Nª SRª DE MACHEDE, PORTUGAL 2021- 

The aim is to restore and expand the old mill and convert it into a non-permanent single-family dwelling, preserving the ruins and constructing an annex to organize the housing program itself. The space of the old mill, approximately 48 m², will be used for an entrance area and a terrace/viewpoint.
The extension has a long, narrow shape, emphasizing the festoon, with a two-part layout below, divided by a porch from which access is gained. The eastern part organizes the main core of the house, with a living room, kitchen, and three bedrooms with bathrooms; on the opposite side of the porch, to the west, there is a guest area with two bedrooms, bathrooms, and a technical area.
Access to the house is via two entrance and parking areas, to the south and north of the plot, slightly embedded in the topography to conceal the cars, and shaded by some tree and shrub species to be introduced. From these spaces, there are some paved, semi-permeable footpaths leading to the house.
