SERRALVES MUSEUM, PORTO 2025
Zanele Muholi’s exhibition brings together works from her first series, ‘Only Half the Picture’—a set of intimate portraits and documentary images that expose the violence, pain and resilience experienced by Black LGBTQIA+ people in South Africa—and the powerful self-portraits of ‘Somnyama Ngonyama,’ showcasing an artistic practice committed to visual activismand the affirmation of their community. It is organised by Tate Modern in collaboration with Fundação de Serralves- Museu de Arte Contemporânea, Porto. The adaptation of exhibit to the museum space was led by Inês Grosso, Chief Curator, and Filipa Loureiro, Curator, with the coordination of Giovanna Gabriel.
