LISBOA, PORTUGAL 2019- (with SITE SPECIFIC arquitectura e PLCO arquitecto)/ VASSCO consórcio de arquitectura
The development is located in the central area of Lisbon, in an area that was not characterized by its recent development, such as the extinction of the old cattle market, which left a large urban void in a state of abandonment, allowing the appropriation of free land for parking. and vacant lots that convey to the place an image of expectant, disorderly and disqualified urbanism.
Taking the Parisian paths as a reference, the entrance to the building is made from a large covered area, through a garden, to a common private outdoor space - a private street, with the aim of bringing the resident community closer, proposing a highly permeable space, in close relationship with the public space, organic, fluid and generous in its use, as a large outdoor atrium, meeting, atrium, reception and action point, central space in the life of the building. It is a space that concentrates all the common and functional areas framed by a linear garden that accompanies the accesses to the various housing nuclei.
The new geometry of the balconies, together with their compartmentalization between apartments, design a concrete facade structure of fixed metric that allows the continuity of the interior space, creating the perception of expansion of the apartment.
